1) Save 30% to 50% on groceries and daily use household products
In this category, Amazon India is my favourite. Through Amazon India, every month I save 30% to 50% on my regular monthly groceries, FMCG goods, daily use household products and personal use products. In this category Amazon has 2 concepts.

a) Super Value Day offer: This is my favourite offer on Amazon India. Under this offer, you can save 30% to 50% on your regular groceries and daily use household products as follows:
i) Direct discount on product MRP: Amazon gives direct discount on most products which ranges from 1% to all the way up to 50% in case of some products. If I take the average discount applicable on the entire order, then this is in the range of 10% to 15% based on my past experience of the last couple of years.
ii) Amazon Pay cashback:Amazon gives 20% cashback in the form of Amazon Pay for orders of Rs. 4000 and above and payment made through debit card or credit card or net banking of a specific bank. The maximum cashback is Rs. 1200. If the order value is between Rs. 1500 – Rs. 4000, then the cashback applicable is 15% when paid through the debit card or credit card or net banking of a specific bank.
iii) CashKaro cashback: When I place my Amazon groceries and daily use household product orders through CashKaro, then I get additional cashback in the range of 4% to 6%. To know more about CashKaro click here.

How I saved 40% on my latest September 2018 order
On my latest September 2018 order of Rs. 5021, I got benefits of Rs. 1990 or 40% as follows:
i) Rs. 760 as direct product discount + (plus)
ii) Rs. 852 as 20% Amazon Pay cashback for payment through bank offer + (plus)
iii) Rs. 200 as cashback for Prime Day offer + (plus)
iv) Rs. 178 CashKaro cashback

As I have mentioned earlier, during the Super Value Day offer, I usually get benefits of 35% – 50%. So it is always a good idea to plan your monthly grocery and daily use household goods shopping and avail the maximum benefit of Amazon Super Value Day offer. b) Amazon Pantry: If you are somehow not able to place your order under the Amazon Super Value Day offer, for whatever reason, then you can place your order on Amazon India under the Amazon Pantry offer. This is an ongoing offer throughout the month. The overall benefits under this offer are in the range of 25% to 40% as follows:
i) Direct discount on product MRP: Based on the direct discount on individual products, if I take the average discount applicable on the entire order, then this is in the range of 10% to 15% based on my past experience of last couple of years.
ii) Amazon Pay cashback: Amazon gives 10% cashback in the form of Amazon Pay for orders of Rs. 1500 and above and payment made through any electronic mode.
iii) CashKaro cashback: When I place my Amazon groceries and daily use household product orders through CashKaro, then I get additional cashback in the range of 4% to 6%.

Even though the benefit under the Amazon Pantry offer (25% to 40%) is slightly lower than the Amazon Super Value Day offer (30% to 50%), still it is a good benefit to get. I always make it a point to place my monthly order under the Super Value Day offer to maximise my benefits and I will urge you also to do the same.

My experience with other websites: Groceries and daily use products are being offered by other websites like Bigbasket, Flipkart, Grofers etc. While Bigbasket has a good range of products in this category, the benefits (discounts and cashbacks) don’t match those of Amazon. Flipkart does not have a wide range in this category. With Walmart stepping, Flipkart should match Amazon’s range in the future.

Grofers has a good range of products (still not as big as Amazon India) and the benefits (discounts and cashbacks) offered are good, but they are more of a mobile App company. Ordering on the small mobile screen does not leave me with a good customer experience, specifically when I can have to option of ordering from my laptop on Amazon India.

So as of now, I am sticking with Amazon for ordering my groceries and daily use products. All the above is my personal opinion about Amazon India and other websites. So if you disagree with me on this matter, its okay. We can agree to disagree with each other

After speaking to quite a few people, I have gathered that these days, in most families, some family member is suffering from some disease for which they have to take regular medicine on an ongoing basis. On gathering further information from people, I realise that the monthly expense on medicines may range from a low of Rs. 500 a month to all the way up to Rs. 12,000 a month.

With regards to prescription medicines and OTC products, if these are bought online, then there are very good offers (discounts and cashbacks) available. These offers are available on websites like Medlife, Netmeds, Pharmeasy etc.
